12. Hot Buttered Rum

Hot Buttered Rum is spicy, warm, and simple drink to make. Plus, it is great to chase away a winter chill.

To make two 10 ounce servings:

3 Taplespoons real butter

6 teaspoons brown sugar, packed

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Allspice to taste

3 ounces half/half, warmed

4 ounces of dark rum

Boiling water

Melt the butter and add in the sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Stir while adding the rum. Keep stirring until the sugar has completely melted. Pour the mixture evenly between the two 10 ounce mugs. Add the half/half to the mixture and then fill each mug to the top with the boiling water and sprinkle with the allspice. You are now ready to chase away any winter chill.
